About Stephen McAndrew
Stephen McAndrew has been in the entertainment industry since 1966.  He has worked both in theater and cabaret venues primarily in the Los Angeles, New York and Boston areas.  His academic career and private studies include voice studies with Christina Hammerstein (Daughter-in-law of Oscar Hammerstein II) in New York, Management with Charles Weiss and Tony Award Winning Director, Joseph Hardy in New York and Sandra Oliver, acting coach, in Hollywood. He has also done  vocal work with organizations such as Hanna Barbara Studios, South Coast Repertory Theater and for television composer Michael Andreas.

Some of his theatre performing credits include principal roles for various Civic Light Opera productions in the Greater Los Angeles Area including Carousel, Oklahoma!, Guys and Dolls, Company, South Pacific and Side by Side by Sondheim to name a few.  He also served on the Executive Board of Directors for Long Beach Civic Light Opera in Long Beach, California.

Stephen received his Master of Arts degree at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire in 1999.  He has worked with students in the field of vocal coaching and vocal studies since 1998. He moved back to California from the Boston Area in 2007.


Internationally, he can be heard performing vocal jazz at the "JAMS" at the Soriano, Italy Jazz festival and has directed and performed at the Clark Center for the Performing Arts on October 2007, 2008, and 2009 for the Annual Central Coast Follies production in Arroyo Grande, Californi.a

He has performed locally at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Hearst Castle, Cafe Villo, The San Luis Obispo Country Club, Level Four in Paso Robles, The Inn at Santa Maria, The Papagallo II and currently Avila Gardens at Sycamore Springs, Steamers in Pismo Beach and the Porch in Santa Margarita Stephen has also recently helped form the vocal ensemble "Counterpoint" that also can be heard throughout the San Luis Obispo area.
